figures i forget to post pix and hit the POD (grand salami U16 - under by 5 goals) as well as habs -.5

as for wednesday, we are losing some value here since the line opened +135, but now it is:

Kings +120 (over ottawa). simply put - L.A. has been a house of horrors for ottawa and i see nothing changing. kings will have a full house for the home opener and the fans will leave happy as the kings win this one.

also like U5 +100 here, too. i can see a 2-1/3-1 kings win - and even if it is 3-2 at least the play doesn't lose.

Kings +120 is the POD

(and unless something shocking happens - i can tell you now ottawa will be the POD friday when they play the not-so-mighty ducks - who i will be fading until i am given a reason not to do so - and so far - all i have seen is a reason to fade the ducks)

i will also be on florida -105 hosting phoenix - but i don't like it as much as the kings

I don't know if you looked further than the just the final scores of last years games, but the Kings win against Ottawa in LA (3-0) came on Ottawa's 3rd game in 4 nights, or the 6th game in 9 days and was right before the all-star break... and it was Jamie Storr's 1st game as the starter after Potin went down...and they won the 1st game of the year on a flukey 30-ft goal 3-2. the Kings look pretty good so far this season, they might be underrated because last year they were ravaged by injuries, but Ottawa is the much better team here... but that's why they play the games, its not up to us who wins...

this play is more anti-ottawa than pro-kings - to a point. i like playing against east conf teams in their first game out west for i thinkt he time difference really messes them up. this game starts @ 10:30P ottawa time and while athletes stay up late anyway - ottawa can't be used to games starting this late - especially this early in the season. i see this game being a very low scoring, tight checking game in which scoring chances will be few and far between. the 2 goalies (lalime and cechmanek) are good regular season goalies and i think the latter will be extra pumped in his kings' home debut to show the fans he was worth obtaining. i doubt he will play - but jason allison could be back for the kings any day now and if it is in this one - kings get an even bigger boost. it won't shock me if ottawa wins - but in a game that i know will be tight - i am taking the value here with the home dog against a team playing its 1st roadie of the season in a time zone they play almost no games in during the season (only 4 teams play in the pacific time zone - with that number being 5 during daylight savings time - AZ doesn't change their clocks so in "DT" they are the same time as PDT).

FYI:

Kings 4-0-1 L5 w/Ott including 3-0-0 in L.A.

Kings 5-0-4 L9 Home openers (which this is) which is the longest current unbeaten streak in the NHL.

Kings back up to +135 @ Olympic. Thanks - love the extra $.15 here.
